I realize this site is primarily for folks who are restoring old Pintos, which I am not. But back in 1976 and again in 1981, I bought two Pintos, both brand new, and thought I would share some pics of the cars from that period. I hope no one takes offense. Chalk it up as an old timer reliving his youth.
This is a 1976 Pinto station wagon, the year before the Cruzin' Wagon came out. I tried to make mine as close to one of those as possible. (You can see larger examples of each of these images at the links below the pictures.) It had ET polished aluminum mag wheels, Kelly Springfield Super Charger radials, custom paint (by myself), full gauges, the old Hurst aluminum T-Handle shift knob which got hotter than a firecracker in the summer, Superior three spoke steering wheel that lost it's horn button on a regular basis (which got kind of embarrassing as the horn blared until you pulled the wires (this was before car alarms, so a car sitting in a parking lot with it's horn blaring got quite a bit of attention)), and a number of other small mods. Fun car to drive and the last year I had it I put a over 37,000 miles on it from August 1979 to August 1980.
