Joe's 71 Pinto
« on: August 29, 2005, 09:29:15 AM »
Brad: Finally got some pics of the 71 Pinto I purchased from Gordon. I had to resize them and I had never done that before. Following are some of the upgrades that I've done over the last year. B&M ratchet shifter; custom sub-frame connectors; new wheels and street tires; Bickle racing wing; wheelie bars; moved battery to trunk with disconnect switch; new cowl hood and front air dam; "Be Cool" aluminum radiator and hi- flow electric fan; lowered 3" . Pretty much complete now except for some body work and paint, may do a little work on the interior some day. Regards, Joe
1971- 289 V8; B&M C4; 9" with 4:11 posi. Several suspension upgrades and body modifications.
1974- 2.3L wagon,4-spd,totally stock. Medium lime yellow, avacado interior, 99k miles.
1972- 1984 Mustang SVO turbo; 5-speed tremec; 9" rear w/positraction; fiberglass front & doors; upgraded suspension.

Thanks for the kind words. I get a lot of attention at the local car shows- everything from " I used to own one of those and I loved it" to " what the hell is that ??" I especially get a lot of favorable comments from the younger generation.  Sorry Pintony- PA is a little to far for this over-the-hill guy. Brad- if you are ever in the San Jose area let me know- maybe we can get together. Joe

Hey Joe,
NO... I'm sorry... I wont get to take a close up look at your Pinto.
Maybe if things work out the way I'd like i'll see you at Knottsberry farm show.

Finishing up some detail work. Will powdercoat the front bumper and fender brackets in gloss black. The front bumper and rear valence panel need body work and then I will repaint. Both doors and front fenders will then be repainted at a local body shop. Also need to replace weatherstrippi ng and window strips. I'm not sure if I will replace the body graphics or not, depends on how the car looks after repaint. This is all in preparation for attending the Knott's Berry show in April 22, 2007.
