 Attn.  Flyerpinto

After I post this here, I'm going to try and P.M. you with this information.  I'm posting it here first, because I'm not very computer savvy, and seem to have trouble with messages.

Yesterday  I noticed a 1977 Pinto "Cruising Wagon"  with a "For Sale" sign.  I stoped and looked, because of you question reguarding "the striping"   I looked from the car,as the place [business] wasn't open

It looks like it could be original [faded paint and all] and the "multi colored" striping is mostly there,  [just the edges are gone]

However, does this help you in any way.  Can I be of any help, pictures or something.
How far away are you, would you like to come and look at the car.

Alot of questions, I guess you'd best suggest something.  I took the phone number off the car, so I could always call the owner.

   Please advise,,,,,,,,   Jim at  jimspinto

Jim,

I'll give you a call tomorrow (Monday) to get the info from you. I'm only in Troy so I'm not that far away. Heck, if the car isn't terribly expensive maybe I could just buy it! Worst case scenario maybe I could buzz up and measure it.  Thanks for spotting it, and I'll talk to you soon.

Yea ! except i didn't get that much information.  As I'd said in my post, the business was closed. so I only looked at the car from the drive.
It seemed pretty solid, but the asking price was a little high [? ? ? ? ? ]
If I remember it was $3200.00 O.B.O.   "O.B.O. are the key words here".
As to high, I guess you also have to take into account that scrap in now at about $500.00  or so on a car.  I think this only comes into consideration when I'm buying, not when I'm selling, but scrap is high and most people seem to think they have a number one car.  [yada yada yada]

At any rate, do call me, I will be happy to help you in any way that I can.  Best,,,,,,,Jim at jimspinto

Well, my definite yes has turned into a no. My uncle has a timeshare in Virginia and he has invited my Dad & I to go at no cost. We'll be leaving on Friday July 5 or Saturday July 6. We won't be getting back until Saturday, Sunday at the latest so I won't be able to make it. I missed out on the timeshare two years ago since I had no vacation time, but this time I won't miss out on it.

   Hey Guys & Gals.

I apologize for not replying to questions [etc.] about "The Ohio Get Together" and heres the reason.

Seems I first had some kind of a "virus" [or something] eating away at my "C file".

Couldn't find it or fix it, took the machine to the "puter man"   He had it for a few days, and when I got it back there was one problem after the other.  I took it back [he had it for another few days]  Then told me the [new] problem was in the phone line, not the computer.

Took the *%$*#@&%* phone company 5 days to come out and fix the line.  Five days to get here, ten minutes to repair the line, damm, damm, damm

However, I back with a working computer [geezzee, I was lost without it]

AND,------  THE "OHIO GET TOGETHER"  IS STILL ON ! ! ! ! !

There's only a short time until July 12th.

Only problem [at the moment] is that I'v lost all the information [like address of those who have commited]

Botom line,  I'm not going to ask for the email address again, as my intention [originaly] was to send everyone an email, reminding them the date and etc.

Please accept this as a reminder, the date is the 12th.  Location and time are the same, everything is in place, look forward to seeing everyone.

Any questions, please post them here, or email me dirrect at "jimsfinefords@yahoo.com"

Again, see you soon [ hope]  Have a wonderfull day, enjoy this great "pinto driving weather'

   Best to all,,,,,Jim at jimspinto

   OK, Bob ! ! ! !
But sure hope that the car is done.   [I should talk, my 71 Mustang has been apart for over a year now. Just cant seem to find the time]
This is realy starting to look like something, seems we will have quite a few "pintos"
I hope the weather works out and everything, I know were going to have a good time and "pinto cruise"

Something I love to do, but not sure I'd get away with it.

Middlefield is a big Amish area.
Alot of places [as well as the parking lot we use] have a "hitching post"  for the Amish to tie-up there horses.
If I thought I'd get away with it, I'd bring a bunch of rope, tie all the pinto's to the "hitching rail"
Think that'd make a heck of a picture
Maybe we could do it just for a photo, then give the Amish back ther parking places,
think about it [everyone] and give me a responce

Best as always,  Jim at jimspinto

Hey Jim

Man I went un dunnit, I've made motel reservations at Super 8 in Beachwood, I
don't know who all are coming besides me, but I can fit 3 more in my room.
Is  Rt 87 Kinsman Rd all the way from Beachwood to Middlefield?  The map maker
must have been on more than caffein when they printed the route through Moreland Hills & Chagrin Falls, wow what a cluster you know what!!!
I know you da man & you will set me straight on the way to Middlefield.
As soon as I find out I will give you a head/Pinto count of who is going to be there.
I am looking forward to this get together I hope this Ohio weather will be good to us
for a change.

  Hey  Guy,

Thats a yes, Kinsman road is Rt. 87.  If you were to stay on 87 [carefull at the "rotary"  everyone takes the wrong exit]  you'd get [go] to Midlefield

You can also avoid Chagrin Falls etc.   When you'v left the motel, head EAST ! ! ! !

Again were back to the "rotary"  [take your time here, I think the signs are the cause of everyone going wrong]  Let me try this ! ! !

As you enter [rotary] theres a "stop" sign-- "BP STATION" on the left.  As you continue, the sign will [try to] send you down Rt 87 & 422 and into [thru] Chagrin Falls.  STOP ! --- DONT TAKE THIS EXIT [road]
Continue on for about 25 /50 feet, to "Pine Tree Rd." [turn right]  Small house on the right, it used to be a bar, think its white or gray.  Strip Mall on the left.
After you gone for only 100 feet, look to your right for a parking lot, with a "Goodwill" collection box and or trailer in it.  If you dont see it, turn around and try again.  Dont forget to say  "shizod" [think this helps ha ha]  If you see the "Box" , you'v done it ! ! !
Continue on [its 35 mph, and ticketville] to the the stop sign, turn right.  Your back on Rt. 87, past the Falls and the B.S.
Follow this to Midlefield, maybe five lights [but 15 / 20 miles]

For what its worth, can you cancel your rev. at no cost.  Do you want to.  There are other places.  Think your coming up Interstate 271 [if your in Beachwood]   I could get you out of Beachwood [think its to near Cleveland] into Solon, Chardon, Burton. Tell me something

If everything is good and you like Super 8 [etc.] can understand the information, see you on the 12th,,,,,,,,,,Jim at jimspinto

                                    See Ya in July  Dick

  Just answered "Postalpony"  see above.
Dont know what the @#*#$ hell the lines are thru evertthing for, I didn't put them there.  Can you read it ?.   Better yet, do you see them on your computer, or are they only on mine ?

Then I got to thinking, why's he asking for drictions, about Hotels and etc.  Cant he read my earlyer post and answers / directions.

Talk about a senior moment, all that information and etc. was / is in my email box, not here on this site.  I havn't gone there yet today, but if enyone needs something / or thinks I should post such information here, please say something

Another thing,  My upstairs,  2nd floor of my garage, with its fold out bed, is still available.
Again it aint the "Ritz" but its [almost] clean. has a toilet, running water, even electricty.  Probably its redemption is the cost [free]  first come first serve, so speak up.

Talk with you soon, I'm going on to my email, again if posting hotel etc. information here is of any value, say something.  Best Jim at jimspinto

The Lines occur when you put html or bbc codes in your posts by accident or click on a button above the smilies. You can always re-edit your posts and remove these incorrect or unwanted characters if needed.

In this case, I went in and did this for you...

Thank you very much, its great how those that know how work a computer, and / or understand a site completly are willing to help us that are just learning.

That thing about teaching an old dog new tricks has some merit.  Although I seem to be able to learn, it takes me a little longer.

    Again thanks,  Jim at jimspinto

OK guys, the "line problem is solved, now all I have to do is find out how I did it.  Not realy worth a lot of work. I'll try to see what I did latter

Re. Hotels & bed and breakfeast places.

I'v been informed [thru another member that most of the ones that I'd suggested are a bit high in price
Seems most of us [car owners] are on the older side [old farts] and that dreaded "fixed income" thing.
I know I'm there, as well as living in the past [the past was / is great, dont knock it]

   Anyhoo,

Starting with places close to the cruise area [place]

Red Maple Inn [in Burton about 3 miles from cruise]
    14707 South Cheshire st Burton, Ohio  440 834 8334

Punderson Manor House [in Newbury about 6 miles to cruise area, place]
    Rt 87, Newbury Ohio [in Punderson State Park]  ! 800 282 7275

Chardon Motel  [this might be the lower price of all in the area [? ? ?]  Nothing to wright home about but clean, and safe area
In Chardon Ohio, 6 or 7 miles from cruise area
   526 Water Street Chardon Ohio 1 866 835 9187

Renaissance Quail Hollow [in  Concord Twp. about 10 or 12 miles from cruise area]
   Interstate 90 and Ohio St. Rt. 44   440 352 6201

********   These might be lower in price ???????????
    There all in neighboring towns.
Just names & numbers, if you need / want directions, post here or email me at jimsfinefords@yahoo.com or 440 591 8381 [cell]

      Best Western, Mentor Ohio  800 528 1234  or  440 205 7378
      Amerihost Inn, Concord Twp.  440 210 4513
      Comfort Inn, Mentor Ohio   440 951 7333
      Days Inn, Willoughby Ohio   440 946 0500
      Motel 6, Mentor Ohio   440 953 8835
Red Roof Inn, Willoughby, Ohio  440 946 9872

For what its worth, I did some research and got the above names &  numbers because I was told the prices of the first few places were rather high [$100.00 plus per night ?]  Suggest you check prices

For anyone thats coming up from the south.  Interstate 71, 76, 77, and 271.  You will approach the south west part of this area.
I REALLY suggest that you continue on  [use interstate 271] towards the lake and the northeastern area.  Hate putting something down [for the world to see] that could possibly come back to bite me, but I dont think ANYTHING along Iterstate 271 is that safe.

And again, The upstairs [2nd floor of my garage] is available.  First come first serve, and as yet nobody has spoken for it.
I repeate,  Its not the "Ritz" but it [almost ha ha ] clean.  Has a fold out couch [bed] running water, tolet, even electric power and a phone.
Its redenption [if it needs one] is the price, just remember you get what you pay for and this "aint no ritz"  but its free

Hope to see you at the "Get Together"   best for now Jim at jimspinto

  Hi everyone, just a "quicky"

Got a phone call from "pastalpony" the other day  [he sounds like a hell of a nice guy, almoust like were cut from the same mold, ha ha]
He tells me that Motel 6 [in Mentor, see above post on same] is [aprox, cant remember] $66.00 per day.  He has made all the phone calls, and although all the others may offer something more, the costs run from the $60.00's thru about $150.00

If your just looking for a place to rest your head, and dont want any of the extras, like a mint on your pillow etc. then it looks like "Motel 6 is your best buy

Mentor is a safe, clean [well policed] city, and not a hard route to Middlefield, if you have a question, "postalpony" says "send him a message, question"

Look forward to seeing all, Jim at jimspinto

First an "apology" Re. the above post.   Its POSTALPONY, not pAstalpony, just remember, I cant type ! Thanks.

Now for the reason for this post.
The 12th is just arround the corner,  I'm both nervous and anxious at the same time.

My choice of words may not have been too good. "Ohio" as in "Ohio Get Together"

Not to slight any of the Ohio Pinto owners, I want to [redundantly] say that. not only is the get together open to everyone, I welcome our neighbors.  We are not that far from Penn. and a very reasonable drive from our other neighbors, Indianna, Kentucky,West Virginia, Michigan & New York.  I think it would be "FANTASTIC" to have some representation from any of these states.  And your certianly welcome, please come.

I have just 2nd guessed my thinking, maybe I should post this notice under "general information"   To everyone else, look  forward to seeing you all.

   Best, Jim at jimspinto

I'm going to be there at about 9:30 am.  I'd hope we could all meet between 10am & noon, then go on our tour/convoy of the Amish area and etc..  Allowing aprox two hours for same, stop for lunch at about 2pm or so.  Then back to the meeting place for fun & photos, also the saturday night cruise.

There are pleanty of shops and etc. sights to see or whatever ! !
And before you know it the day will be over.  Looking forward to seeing all, and a great day of fun.

Let me try to cover the location again,,,,,,,

Middlefield Ohio is  south of Interstate 90,  exit at Ohio St. Rt. 44, go south to Ohio St. Rt. 87, then east to Middlefield
North of Interstate 80 [ohio turnpike]  Again exit on Ohio St. Rt. 44, go north to Ohio St. Rt. 87 then east to Middlefield.
Meet is at [in] Harrington Square Mall, 15561 Kinsman Road [Ohio Rt. 87]  Located on the south side of the street, just east and across the street from "Advance Auto Parts"  West of Ohio St. Rt. 608.
Downtown Middlefield [if there is such a place] is at Rts. 87 & 608

   Hi, Everyone.

I was just looking on here [as I do almoust every day] and noticed there were "3325 hits"
Thought, wouldn't that be a hell of a "Pinto Showing"   Over 3000 Pinto's all at one time, in one place, talk about a show of power

Anyhoo, was just checking to see if anyone needed anything etc. [re. "the ohio get together"] when I saw the 3325 hits.
So, back to reality for a moment.  Does anyone need anything, are all 3325 going to be at the meeting ?  O.M.G. !
Its only a short time until the 12th, hope to see you there, call me or email me if I can be of any help.

   Best,,,,,,  Jim at jimspinto

Jim,

I'll certainly be there, I've made my reservations and I'm good to go! I'm still trying to get up there to measure those stripes as well. I'll be staying at the Days Inn in Willoughby Friday and Saturday night. If nothing is going on Saturday night I'll just come home early, but I love to roam. Must be a Pinto thing.

    Hey, Flyer AND EVERYONE ELSE ! ! ! !

If your going to be in town friday (or anytime before the meet] contact me, there are plenty of cruises around.
We could burn up some of that cheep fuel with out a problem, lots to see also [although most places are closed at night)
Cleveland / Akron etc. arent realy recommended after dark (same for most big citys ?) but there's always the small towns & places around the city(s).

I always try to tell my car friends (both of them, ha ha) we should try to expose ourselfs and our cars to new places and different people.  Get a chance to see different cars and etc.  Take the time to travel to cruises away from home, you'll be rewarded

Love to go to out of the way cruises with the pinto, because (I swear) it gets more attention then cars of of much greater value (please, I ment dollars not fealings)

I could go on and on with this, but I'm sure you get the idea.  If you in town earlyer, and want to do a bit of cruisen, call me

Thanks for the time and see you soon,,,, best Jim at jimspinto

It does this line sometimes because you use "[]" and not "()".

 Hey Turbopinto

    I never even noticed there was both "{ }" & "[ ]"

Between my eyesight, lack of spelling, lack of computer and typeing savvy, I guess anything is possible.  I thank you for this information, and will make a note of it, give it a try

For now, please try to "read between the lines"   Jim at jimspinto
