OMG, that is what we all dread can happen. Based on the speed, it doesn't sound like damage will be minimal. Keep us updated. Hopefully you are ok as well?!

Hopefully you can get it back and maybe fix it or use the good parts to build another one.  Sorry though.

The important thing is that you survived the accident. The damage to your Pinto is heartbreaking, but hopefully it can be repaired or as someone else said, used as a donor car. And you are alive to make the decisions about the future of your Pinto.

Something like this happened to me. I had a $10,000 value insurance. I got low offer, but my insurance made up the difference.

Even though the insurance company totaled the car out, can you flatbed it home and strip off any usable parts? We had a 1985 Jeep Grand Wagoneer that was totaled out because it was sideswiped  and the door column was severely bent. We were able to negotiate to keep the car by agreeing that it could never be repaired and put back on the road. An old friend had the same Jeep and used ours as a donor vehicle to keep his repaired. We felt that at least parts of "Old White" kept another boat towing vehicle running.
