A Pinto hoard...
Started with a Bobcat wagon. Then a Cruising wagon. Now a Chocolate brown 77 wagon. I will enjoy this car for a long time. I'm in. High_Horse

"we can haul 4 more rust free cars out of the west coast on the way back!!!!"

The "rust free" California car is somewhat of a myth. It's sort of like that song, "It never rains in California - It pours."  Between hudreds of miles of salt air coastline and a lengthy rainy season iron oxide is not the rare commodity some think.  My experience has been that many California cars get rain water inside them (under carpet, trunk mats etc.) and rust from the inside out.

I'll grant that the typical car may be better than a rust belt car, but there are very few that don't need some rust repair. By the way, how do I know? Well..., those rusting California cars are all I can afford to buy. My Sunbeam Tiger suffered from a severe case of "rust around the rockers." (see below if I posted the picture right???)

Anyway, I look forward to seeing the cars and meeting the Pinto People.

Everyones opinion of "rust free" is different.
The rust comes with the car for free. ;D
No extra charge for the rust. ;D

Yes, while I can agree that everyone has their own interpertation of "rust free," it sure would be nice if the term actually meant what it stated.  I've seen cars that were completely surface rusted and because there was no overwhelming "rust through" the seller took the liberty to call it "rust free."   Other cars I've seen were riddled with rust to the point that metal was absent.  I guess "rust free" meant the rust had removed the metal to the point that the rust no longer existed.  Just like there is a grading scale for the condition of cars it would be nice if one existed to define rust.

My other point was just to say that a California car is no guarantee that it is free of rust (by anyone's definition).  As a new guy here I don't want to deviate the original post from its intent, so I politely bow out.
