Need replacement woodgrain vinyl for my Squire...any sources???

My Squires faux wood siding is getting a bit long in tooth and needs replacing.  I've seen a number of Squires where the replacement was awful!  Wrong color, wrong grain...etc.  I've got a few pieces of NOS, but not enought to do the whole car.

There was a place in Salem Oregon, Bunny's, that specialized in automotice woodgrain vinyl but I don't have a current number. The one for Bunny's listed on the Woodie Club web is not valid.

JC Whitney has some but its too dark.  I've contacted Stripeman.com and they have a Cherry Oak, but don't know if this is close enough to the original in color and grain. 

OK...any sources for NOS?

Any recommendation for a current production supplier?

Any help would be appreciated.

Same here. (I need wood grain)
The replacement stuff from Whitney looks pretty good because the person that re-painted my car the first time used it and it's hard to tell the difference from the real thing.
The hardest part is finding the moldings. I was lucky enough to run across Doc (Earthquake) on this website and he had entire set that looks great.

I'm in the same wooden boat. I need it for my Squire as well. I have considered doing a real wood siding if I can't find it. 8)

Like I said, the stuff on my car now is the replacement stuff from Whitney and nobody knows the difference. Plus I guess it was cheap enough. I am not sure if they make it anymore but it beats nothing and is easy to put on plus looks good

I researched this when I had my '80 Squire and was considering replacing it. 3M still has replacement woodgrain vinyl that is close. Also, the woodgrain vinyl for the Jeep Wagoneer is also pretty close. Keep in mind that even Ford used slightly different colored woodgrain, depending on the assembly plant. In the parts books there are different part numbers on some years depending on the assembly plant, so if it doesn't look exactly like what was on there, but is close, it's going to be hard to notice. Besides, new is always going to look better than the 30-year vinyl that is on there!

I agree with wagonmaster, a brochure i have for my bobcat listed a different color( type) woodgrain for the wagon and the car in the same year.
fortunately  mine is still good.

i was going to suggest the jeep grand wagooneer as well you can get resto stuff for those and they were so big it should be more than enough material to do a wagon

I don't know if this will help, but with my Pinto came a tube, from Ford Parts, that has extra 3M Vinyl.  Not enough for a car, but if I ever got hit on one panel, I'd have enough to repair it with.

It was stamped with all the part numbers and original order sheet (and aplication instructions), all referring to the Pinto Squire.

I'll pull it out of the garage and post all the part numbers and contact info I can find..... however it was dated in the mid- 90's.  So you prob. won't be able to get it through Ford, but maybe through a 3M cross-reference?

I'm the new owner of what might possibly be the most "restored' '77 Pinto Squire around.  I had a '79 Strsky & Htch stripped glass-back back in the 80's and love it.  I crave "originality" and this Squire is unbelievable.  Glad to be back into Pintos!
